In Which I Am At leisure

This afternoon I had a three hour nap.  At first I was kind of disoriented.

Then Papa gave me a hug and we played "Num Num Num Num Num" and pretty soon I was ready for action!

Roll over, Beethoven!

Today I practiced faces.

This is happy:

This is sad:
This is: "I'm late for my GQ photo shoot but I'm too cool to care"

And this is, "I know an old lady who swallowed a fly - perhaps I'll try it myself!"

Once I'd fueled up, it was time to rock and roll. Things started slowly in the gymnasium.

But then I was cooking.

Wait, why does everything look sideways?

Making the full turn is still a work in progress, but my Papa gave me a hand. Or did he take a hand?????

Hey, now the other one's missing.....

Aghhhhh! Where did it go? That is too weird.

Man, I am bushed.

Later, dudes. Don't do anything I wouldn't do.  Peace. Signed, Leo

Spring?

Such beautiful weather this weekend. Yesterday Ima took me out for a walk. I have not been out in such warm weather since I was 8 days old!

I took a seat in the front carrier, so I could inspect my surroundings. We headed down the street, and just a few steps into our walk, me flapping my arms and Ima humming a silly song about taking a walk ( לטיול יצאנו) we encountered some nice person who smiled at us.

Two blocks later (1, see map below) we ran into our postman. He has known Mama for some years, but has never met me, and seemed very happy to see me. We were properly introduced, but I was so jealous of his uniform, I started crying. No one seemed to mind.
We passed through a park and many people said hello to us. I was starting to feel quite like a celebrity.

Walking down Allston Street, an older guy who was hanging out on his porch (2) rose to his feet and gave us a broad, two-hand wave. We waved back, and exchanged 'happy spring' wishes.

From there we went to the larger park (3) where I've been before. We sat on a bench and looked around. Lots of kids were playing there, and a few dogs. Ima explained that we were seated by a trellis and that soon it will be covered with vines, and the whole park will be leafy and green and blooming.  A cheerful guy holding two stuffed animals came by. He said hello to mama and to me. He really wanted me to wave back but I was feeling a little sleepy.

We walked down a nice street (Magazine) and stopped to look at two squirrels who were munching on some nice looking peanuts (4). They were interesting to look at!

Further down that same street we passed by a convenience store. A cool looking dude was standing on the corner, drinking out of a can. As we passed he turned around and said: "cute!"

We turned onto Allston Street; mama wanted us to go to yet another park; but just a few steps down that block she realized I was actually sleeping (6).

Just as we reached home and mama was dreaming of putting me down and catching a nap herself, we ran into our next door neighbor So (7).
So has a granddaughter that was born ten days after me, weighing 4oz more. The girl also reached 10lbs when I was still around 9. So and my parents regularly compare developmental milestones. She saw us coming and called out: "So big! How much?"; "16lbs!" said my mom proudly. "And yours?"; So, clearly defeated, avoided a straight answer, and instead turned to describing her granddaughter's cuteness and chub. It was obvious that I won this round.

My mom's  hopes for a nap were dashed right as we stepped inside. I was up again, and engaged Mama and Shoshi the Dragonfly in a fascinating game (I WANNA EAT THIS!) for a long time.

It was such a nice day. I think I will like spring.
